A theatre in Nairn has upgraded its online booking system to improve accessibility.
From this month, wheelchair users wishing to attend a show The Little Theatre will be able to book a space directly online without having to phone up or email the theatre to enquire whether accessible seats are free.
Theatre manager Ross Henderson-McKillop said the change was implemented following audience feedback.
He said: "We have always strived to be an accessible venue, something that is difficult at times with the size of the space and limitations in design, and accommodating wheelchairs means removing seats, therefore we need to know in advance.
"We’ve always done this by asking people to phone or email, but this is unfair when everyone else could book online, especially with high demand shows like the annual panto, which sells quickly.
"Therefore, it’s now possible to book the wheelchair space using the website, and it will automatically remove the required seats."
If the seats are taken people will still be able to call or phone the theatre team who will seek to rearrange the booking to accommodate wheelchair users.
