A Drumnadrochit care project is appealing for donations of thermometers after it was unable to get supplies during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Glenurquhart Centre, which is based in Coiltie Crescent and helps the elderly and vulnerable continue to live independently, posted the appeal on its Facebook page.

The post asks to borrow thermometers and adds: "With light of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak we are striving to keep our staff and service users as safe as possible.

"We are taking every measure and precaution that we can and something that would really help is access to a few thermometers so we can monitor temperatures.

"With a raised temperature being one of the first indicators of the Covid-19 virus, this would help us to ensure that we are not putting anyone in our community at risk.

"We have tried to source our own but alas we can't get hold of any at all. We hope you are all staying safe and as upbeat as possible during these uncertain times."

The project can be contacted via its Facebook page.
