INVERNESS' first fully vegan restaurant The Alleycat on Mealmarket Close is no more as not enough partners were found to keep it going.

Alina Ben Larbi was left as sole partner after the others left, and needed to find help to keep the business afloat.

She put out an appeal on Facebook for help in May, revealing her plans to turn the business into an inclusive LGBT+ space.

However, she did not manage to find someone in time and was forced to close the business.

She said: "With a heavy heart, we have to deliver the news that we are closing the Alleycat.

"Unfortunately, I did not manage to find a new partner, but I am very thankful for everyone who has offered a helping hand because frankly: you rock!

"Hosting this space has been the best job I've had so far and I will greatly miss all of your friendly faces and conversation's."
