Tesco Inshes in Inverness set to introduce new automatic number plate recognition cameras

A new automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system is set to be installed into Tesco Inshes car park in the coming weeks.

The new camera controlled system will be implemented to to keep customers safe and prevent antisocial behaviour at the retail park due to its size and has now limited customers to parking there for up to three hours.

Horizon Parking is managing the car park on behalf of Tesco and has instated new maximum stay signs in the car park.

Between 7am-8pm, consumers are able to park for up to three hours, between 8pm-10pm customers are able to stay for up to an hour, and from 10pm-7am, customers are only permitted to stay parked for up to 15 minutes.

Customers who do not familiarise themselves with the new car park guidelines and return to their car late or park inappropriately can receive a charge notice of £70.

Tesco has been approached for a statement, but did not want to comment.

Horizon Parking has also been approached for a comment.
