PART of Bught Road in Inverness is to become one-way for the rest of the year – while construction on the River Ness hydro project continues.

A section of the road, from the entrance to Whin Park to the Bught Lane junction near Inverness Botanic Gardens, will be one-way from 8am on Monday until 6pm on December 31.

Highland Council said that the temporary one-way system "is required to improve road safety for vehicles egressing a temporary access during the construction of the River Ness hydro project".

They added: "The one-way system will be signed and alternative routes will be available for traffic affected by this notice."
