Highland Council is advising people that the Infirmary Bridge will be closed for Hogmanay.

People attending the Inverness Red Hot Highland Fling event are being advised that the Infirmary Bridge (footbridge) on the River Ness will be closed from 11.30pm on Hogmanay to 1am on New Year's Day in the interests of public safety.

Access to the bridge will be monitored throughout the evening by staff from SecuriGroup, in conjunction with Police Scotland and event management staff to prevent a build-up of pedestrians.
