Teenager in hospital and man arrested after alleged assault in Inverness

A 16-year-old boy is in hospital following an alleged assault in Inverness yesterday.

Police were called to the scene – understood to be near the Caledonian Canal – at around 6pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called at around 6pm on Saturday, to a report of an assault in the Telford Street area of Inverness.

“A 16-year-old male youth was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment where his condition is described as stable.

“A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
