A TEENAGER is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court in connection with a fire that destroyed a British Red Cross lorry at a city business park.

The 18-year-old male, who has not yet been named, is expected to appear from custody after being charged in relation to the September 13 fire in Cradlehall Business Park.

The Mercedes Atego lorry was packed with emergency equipment at the time of the fire, which occurred shortly after 1am in Caulfield Road North. The blaze was brought under control within 40 minutes and the area was cordoned off to allow a police and fire investigation to proceed.

Medical equipment worth several thousand pounds was on board the lorry at the time of the fire, including emergency response bikes, trolley beds and gazebos. Some of this equipment was damaged.
