A furloughed worker in Inverness is raising much needed money for charity.

Andrew Grieg, who normally works for the Special Needs Action Project (SNAP) in Inverness has turned his hand to becoming a quiz master and marathon runner in aid of supporting children and young adults with learning disabilities.

Mr Grieg is asking for donations to support SNAP in a bid to raise £1000 for the group's activities.

"I’m going to be doing a quiz night every Friday night at 8pm on Facebook Live until this is all this is over," he said.

"It’s £5 a team and all everyone needs is a pen and paper. No one will be on live except me – so don’t worry, no one can see anyone.

"There’s a chat on live so everyone can speak and get the crack."

He continued: "I’m also running a marathon in the garden this week. My garden is small but after measuring the space it has worked out as running back and forth 10,000 times. I’m going to be doing 2000 a day for five days.

"Any donations will be very much appreciated."

SNAP is a voluntary organisation based in Inverness offering leisure and socialising opportunities to young people with learning disabilities.

It offers after school clubs, holiday leisure schemes, Saturday outings and weekend breaks.
