ENTERPRISING sixth year pupils at Culloden Academy have come up with a game to encourage younger children to go outside and enjoy their environment.

Members of the Inspire team have designed a card game called GoExplore. Players choose a card from a pack of 50 then search for the image, be it a duck, squirrels, leaves or a landmark. Each character is worth a different number of points, with the more obscure worth more. The cards cost £5 and so far the group has sold 220 packs, making a profit of £515.

Elle Fraser, the group’s marketing manager, said: “We thought about a board game first, but decided on a card game designed to get children outside and into the great outdoors. And it can fit in your pocket. We started off with the original game but then released a further two editions – the woods and winter edition.”

Inspire is currently developing three more versions of the game, including a spring/summer one and others in French and Gaelic.

The group will pitch their product at the Young Enterprise Scotland area finals, being held at the Ironworks on Tuesday, where they will be up against teams from Fortrose, Millburn and Invergordon.
