It’s going to be another busy weekend for the dancers taking part in Strictly Inverness 2023 as fundraising cranks up another notch.

Multiple events to raise donations for Highland Hospice and the Inverness Ice Centre are due to take part this weekend.

Tomorrow there will be a coffee morning at Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club organised by Lia Smith (18) from Muir of Ord.

Lia is following in the footsteps of her mum Carla who took part in the dance-off several years ago.

She said: “The reason for me applying is my mum Carla did it in 2016 and loved it.

“That has made me want to do it ever since. I just have never been old enough until now.

“I love dancing. I would dance anywhere instead of walk if I could so this is a very exciting experience for me.

“Strictly is also done for the benefit of the Highland Hospice a local charity which is such a great cause to raise money for - it’s a win-win really.”

Meanwhile, if you are in the Golspie area on Saturday the Fountain Road Hall will be hosting a quiz night with proceeds going towards Andrew Sutherland’s fundraising efforts.

And Househill Café in Nairn is holding an acoustic open mic night tomorrow.

Finally it’s back to the ‘90s as pupil support assistant Simone Stewart has organised an old school vinyl night at the Legion Club Dingwall.

She is taking part in May’s contest at the ice centre with dance partner Keith Goodbrand.
