Visitors to Moy Country Fair will have a tasty menu in their sights as Inverness street food goes rural

A tantalising celebration of “restaurant quality” street food from the Highlands will be showcased at Moy Country Fair this summer.
Visitors will be taken on a foodie journey with the Highland Food and Drink Trail, an Inverness-based street food collective who work with an eclectic mix of food vendors from all around the north of Scotland.
The fair is held on Moy Estate near Inverness on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th August 2023.
There will be seven vendors alongside a street style stretch tent including Inverness-based family run seafood producer The Redshank Catering Company, Scottish game specialists Seasonal Flavour, gourmet pulled meats from Ollie’s Pops, wood-fired pizzas made with local produce from Blazin’ Pizza and mobile street food vendor Oregano will be there providing seasonal dishes.
For those with a sweet tooth, Bad Girl Bakery will be there offering Highland made cakes and bakes. The trail will be completed with fresh pressed smoothies, juices and plant-based meals from Juicy Ness’ unique horse box unit.
As well as a mouthwatering line-up of street food vendors, the Highland Food and Drink Trail will also feature live music from Scottish artists including traditional and acoustic, each day from 11.00am-4.30pm.

"Our street food collective will be serving restaurant quality food using true Scottish produce, all set alongside our fantastic stretch tent with some amazing Scottish musical artists as the perfect backdrop to great food. An exciting collaboration for us and we can’t wait for the event.”
The street food vendors are looking forward to being part of the vibrant food scene at the fair. Jamie Ross from The Redshank Catering Company said: “We are so excited to see street food developing in the Highlands with local vendors showcasing the amazing Scottish produce in our own street food style. To be part of such a long-standing event like the Moy Country Fair is brilliant.”
The Fair’s popular Food Theatre will be back and featuring professional chef and presenter Christopher Trotter who will give cooking demonstrations using ingredients from local producers.
As well as the various food producers on the Highland Food and Drink Trail, the Food Tent and chefs demonstrating in the Food Theatre, there will be plenty for visitors of all ages to experience, from the traditional Main Ring activities sponsored by Galbraith to axe-throwing and archery.
Beyond the main ring, a variety of field sports will also be returning including clay pigeon and musket shooting, air rifles, catapults and archery where visitors, both novice and competitors can participate.
The Fair will see the return of Savage Skills, the UK’S leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team. The group of talented riders will be providing two arena performances of their BMX show each day where spectators will see a series of incredible stunts and tricks including a crowd favourite – the back flip.
Proving again that this is an event for all ages, younger field sports enthusiasts can participate in the Junior MacNab challenge. Hosted by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), the popular event invites children to participate in a clay pigeon shooting, air rifle shooting and fly-fishing competition.
The Children’s Corner includes a storyteller, Moo-music, Mascot Madness Bouncy Castles and Bubbles the Clown will be entertaining children around the Fair.
