A live cookery demonstration hosted by an Inverness stove supplier will raise money to help support bereaved children.

Bonk & Co is launching a new corporate venture to help their staff and customers give back to the local community.

The Archie Foundation, which helps children and families in the north of Scotland with healthcare or bereavement support needs, will be the first to benefit.

Alex Dolby, managing director of Bonk & Co, will launch the partnership at an AGA cookery demonstration in the company's Harbour Road showroom on Wednesday, April 26.

AGA demonstrator Naomi Hansell will be creating dishes for guests to sample between 1pm and 3pm.

Tickets cost £30 and all proceeds will be donated to the Archie Foundation to fund carefully-tailored support for a bereaved child.

This includes an initial telephone consultation with the parent or responsible adult making the referral and provision of specialist bereavement books that will help the child understand and process the death of their loved one.

The Archie Foundation has been supporting NHS Highland paediatric services since 2012.

In 2022, the charity extended its support in the region by introducing Archie’s child bereavement service.

Mr Dolby said: "We really wanted to give something back to the local community that has served us so well over Bonk & Co’s history and we couldn’t think of a better cause than the Archie Foundation.

"We’ve got so many ideas of different opportunities for our staff and customers to get involved in over the coming months and we’re really excited to be getting this initiative off the ground."

Paula Cormack, chief executive of the Archie Foundation, commented: "We were thrilled when the team from Bonk & Co got in touch to tell us they had chosen Archie to be their very first charity partner.

"The Archie Foundation makes the most enormous difference to local children and families, but none of it would be possible without the support of local businesses like Bonk & Co and their staff and customers."

Availability for the event is limited and tickets can be booked at www.bonkandco/event.
