This morning's Inverness to Amsterdam flight has been cancelled due to stormy weather in the Dutch city.

The KLM flight was scheduled to leave the Highlands at 6.25am and arrive in the Netherlands at 9am.

The airline stated: "Due to stormy weather our flight schedule is disrupted. Major cancellations and delays are to be expected until and including Wednesday, July 5, 2023. We urgently advise you to reconsider your itinerary and postpone travels to, from or via Amsterdam. Plan your trip to Schiphol Airport ahead and prepare for extra travel time."

It is the latest disruption for air passengers to and from Inverness.

Flights have linked Inverness and Amsterdam since May 2016.
