ALMOST 20 bus services in and around Inverness have been cancelled today due to staff shortages and illness, Stagecoach has confirmed.

Nineteen journeys were axed on Tuesday, with service 2 the most affected. Thirteen of its timetabled services were axed. The route sees buses serve Inverness city centre, Woodside Village, and Craig Dunain.

Two number 4 services between Union Street and Milton of Leys –one in each direction – are cancelled this evening.

And four number 3 journeys were also axed this morning and tonight. The latter service's route covers Balloch, Oakdene, Craig Dunain and Inverness city centre.

The cancellations come after two days of lower disruption than of late, with no services cancelled on Sunday, and four later on Monday. However, the three days between Thursday and Saturday saw well over 100 journeys axed.
