Sports centre in Inverness becomes latest to receive state-of-the-art fitness upgrade

State-of-the-art fitness equipment has been installed at an Inverness sports centre as part of an ongoing programme to improve gyms across the Highlands.

Inverness Royal Academy Sports Centre has become the latest to announce the installation of Technogym fitness equipment, following on the heels of recent refurbishment at Lochaber Leisure Centre.

The new equipment is part of High Life Highland's work to upgrade gyms across its network of sites, and will bring the latest in fitness technology and innovation to the centre.

Ross Dudgeon, High Life Highland’s facility manager, based at Inverness Royal Academy, said: “Myself and the team at Inverness Royal Academy Sports Centre are thrilled to be bringing in the latest in fitness technology.

“This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing our highlife members with the best possible tools to achieve their fitness goals.

“The installation includes a variety of Technogym’s Excite Live range cardiovascular equipment, including: Bike Live, Climb Live, Recline Live, Run Live, and Vario Live.

“These machines feature interactive touchscreens, personalised workouts, and immersive entertainment options, making every workout engaging and effective for users.

“We have also taking the opportunity to significantly increase our strength offering, including: Dual Leg Curl/Leg Extension, Leg Press, Low Row, Dual Abductor/Adductor, Cable Station, Pure Strength Deadlift, Pure Strength Hip Thrust and additional rack.

“In addition to the Excite Live and Strength ranges, Inverness Royal Academy Sports Centre will also receive two Skill Rows, and one Technogym Bike to accompany our Watt Bikes, a ‘My Wellness’ Kiosk, and a Tanita Body Analyser.

“These additions will further expand the centre’s fitness offerings, catering to a wide range of fitness levels and goals.

“As a highlight of the upgrade, Inverness Royal Academy Sports Centre are delighted to announce the future installation of the innovative Technogym ‘Visio’ system.

“The ‘Visio’ system is a digital training platform that provides personalised training experience tailored to your needs and preferences, transforming the way members interact with fitness equipment.

“Following suit of Lochaber Leisure Centre’s recent refurbishment, Inverness Royal Academy Sport Centre will now be the second of High Life Highland’s facilities to employ this system, and we are so excited to be welcoming our membership as well as members of the public in to see, test, and use the new set-up for their fitness routines!”

The new fitness suite is scheduled to open its doors to the public on Saturday, December 16, following closure for refurbishment and in-house staff training.
