An Inverness based online grocery delivery business launched earlier this year has improved its service with next day deliveries for Inverness-shire, Nairnshire and much of Easter Ross.

Ness Valley provides householders and communities in Inverness and the surrounding area with a quick, easy and alternative way for all of their online grocery shopping needs.

It caters for changes in consumer buying behaviour especially in light of social distancing and staying at home policies.

Over 700 products are available including fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and dairy, pantry essentials, bread and cakes, baking ingredients, chilled goods, soft drinks, wines, craft beer and Scottish spirits.

The majority of orders include next day delivery in modern temperature-controlled vehicles.

Managing Director Gary Williamson explained: “Over the last six months we have worked hard to refine our online ordering and technical systems to make it as convenient as possible for local householders to do their shopping locally. As we continue to face uncertain times, we hope to grow

Ness Valley as a good value, high quality and user friendly grocery shopping experience for local people.”

Ness Valley provides free delivery subject to a modest minimum order value to Dingwall, Strathpeffer, Evanton, Alness, Conon Bridge, Muir-of-Ord, Beauly, Nairn and most rural areas in between.

Everyday brands from Graham’s, the family dairy, Mackie’s Crisps and Barr Soft Drinks to local favourites including Connage Cheese, Maclean’s Highland Bakery and Murdoch Brothers butchers from Forres are available.

Gary explained: “As a bulk food and drink supplier to over 100 retail outlets in the wider Highlands and Islands, we have a good handle on what the end consumer is looking for. So, whether you’re looking for a small family friendly box of dried herbs or a case of craft beer we can help.

“Given the growth and awareness of healthy and artisan eating, we are confident the new Ness Valley service will be an attractive proposition for shoppers in the longer term. This will continue to support Scottish food and drink producers and protect local jobs too.”

Ness Valley is part of Williamson Foodservice – a name better known for wholesale food and drink to the north of Scotland’s hospitality and catering sector.

The company has been in the business of supplying food and drink for over 60 years.

“Fresh produce, chilled goods like dairy and perishable products that have a specific shelf life need to be looked after and handled carefully and safely.

Our facilities in Inverness guarantee goods reach customers in the best condition possible and we take a real pride in both our attention to detail, friendliness and efficiency with all customers large and small,” said Gary.

Ness Valley has also supplied a number of community drop-off points throughout the Highlands and Islands that are neither serviced by local retailers nor supermarkets. These include the remoter parts of Loch Ness to the Isle of Eigg.

This has helped complement the wide network of rural shops and convenience stores throughout the north of Scotland which the company already supplies to and who are the lifeblood of many remote communities.
