As part of Highland Business Week, organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce, enterprise support organisation GrowBiz is hosting a special XChange networking event with the theme ‘connect with purpose’.

The event will be focused around ‘speed networking’, a fun and fast paced opportunity to forge new connections.

Before being let loose to mingle, attendees will learn a simple approach to putting together an impactful introduction that they can practise and improve on throughout the evening.

GrowBiz Enterprise facilitator Andy Lambert said, “Many people hate the idea of networking because they don't want to be ‘sold at’.

"Our goal with this Connect with Purpose event is to turn that idea on its head. We want to encourage participants to share their passions and explore with others how they can be of service to each other, empowering the attendees to make quick, meaningful and mutually beneficially connections.”

This free event will take place online on Thursday September 29 at 6pm. Before you attend, GrowBiz encourages you to think about who you'd like to meet, what they do, how they can help you and how you can help others.

Tickets to the Connect with Purpose XChange event can be booked at www.growbiz.co.uk/events

GrowBiz also exhibited at the Highland Spotlight Event, also part of Highland Business Week, on Tuesday 27, highlighting the support it provides to rural small business and the self-employed. In particular, it was encouraging businesses to get themselves a free listing on Rural Enterprise Directory Scotland (REDS).

REDS is a GrowBiz initiative launched in 2020 as a long-term response to the pandemic and the hardships that micro businesses in rural Scotland were experiencing as a result.

It provides free connection with other businesses, online promotion of your business, advocacy to decision makers and business support, which is now needed more than ever, as the cost of living crisis impacts our rural communities before they’ve had the chance to recover from the effects of Covid. Find out more at www.REDS.scot

GrowBiz provides free support services for anyone who is considering becoming self-employed, starting or growing an existing small business or social enterprise in rural Scotland.
