MORE than 22,000 people packed out Bught Park on a “perfect” Tuesday evening to celebrate Bonfire Night.

Revellers were treated to a bonfire, fun fair and various arts performances before a spectacular fireworks display.

Highland council event manager Gerry Reynolds said he was pleased with how the night had went.

“The reason we put on the fireworks display is to make sure people are safe,” he said. “There were so many people watching the show – we are delighted that it was safe for them all.

“It was a perfect dry night, and we could see stars when there was a break in the clouds. The fireworks and bonfire looked spectacular. It was great fun.

“We are looking forward to next year already.”
