Specsavers' Inverness director sees his way to £1481 boost for Macmillan Cancer Support after completing Etape Loch Ness for charity

A DIRECTOR of a local opticians has raised almost £1500 for charity by taking part in the gruelling Etape Loch Ness.

Gavin Wreath, store director and optometrist at Specsavers in Inverness and Dingwall ,completed the 66-mile, 360 degree cycle around Loch Ness in 4 hours and 33 minutes.

He raised a total of £1481, which will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause that helps support those who are diagnosed with cancer.

He said: "I am delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount of money for a great cause. Macmillan really goes above and beyond to help everyone that is affected by cancer, and I am so proud to support them.

"I’d also like to extend my thanks to everyone who donated and supported me throughout the training and event."
