Special visitor pops in to Inverness Katie Morag exhibition

A young lady with a special connection to one of Scotland's most beloved literary creations paid a visit to a celebratory show.

Katie Morag – Imagining an Island is currently on show at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, shining a light on the much-loved red head who lives on the fictional island of Struay and enjoys a series of everyday adventures, often flanked by her little brother, teddy bear or at least one of two wise grandmothers.

The creation of Mairi Hedderwick the Katie Morag exhibition features storyboards and finished illustrations showing how the book was put together.

This week one of those popping into Inverness Museum and Art Gallery for a look was Kimberley Bremner.

From Inverness herself she acted as the double for Katie in the BBC film version series 2 of the stories.

The exhibition finishes on Saturday with the museum and gallery open Tuesdays to Thursdays from noon-4pm and on Friday and Saturday from 11am-4pm.
