Some pupils at Nairn Academy are having to work from home today.

It has been announced this is due to staffing shortages which continue at the school.

A spokesman said that another two staff who are off unwell from work today – this is on top of the number of staff who are self-isolating this week.

The spokesman added: "We have an added pressure tomorrow with two staff also required to assess pupils as part of the SQA exams. This date has been in the calendar for pupils and cannot be changed.

"Given all these demands on the timetable, unfortunately we require S1, S2 and S3 to work from home today (Friday 25 March). We remain very hopeful that we have staff able to return next week.

"We will update tomorrow ahead of Monday. We do appreciate this is a very difficult situation for families.

"Thank you for your support and understanding. Keep well and take care."
