A HIGHLAND-based music society has announced they will host free taster sessions in October.

The Highland Branch of the Clarsach Society will offer several free opportunities for taster clarsach sessions.

The sessions will be running in Inverness and Dingwall on October 1 and in Evanton on Sunday, October 9.

A spokesperson said: "The clarsach has a long history in the Highlands and if you've always fancied having a go, now is your chance.

"The clarsach is a wonderful instrument for both adults and children to experience. With come-and-try sessions in Inverness, Dingwall and Evanton, hopefully there is something near you.

The sessions will be free with harps are provided by the organiser, and no musical experience is required.

The taster sessions will last about 45 minutes, with limited places, therefore booking will be essential.
