FIREFIGHTERS from six Highland stations were tackling a major blaze in a barn at an Easter Ross farm this afternoon.

The alarm was raised at Meddat Farm near Kildary, Invergordon, shortly after 3pm and at 5pm flames and smoke could be seen rising from the building.

Units from Invergordon, Tain, Dingwall, Dornoch, Golspie and Inverness were sent to the scene.

Details of what was inside the barn are not available so far.

Meddat Farm Annex is advertised online as having holiday accommodation.
