The use of motorhomes has become increasingly popular.

A NEW overnight caravan/campervan site has been established in Golspie, it has emerged.

Golspie Community Council has announced that an area has been made available for motor home and campervan users at Rhives car park.

The move is in a bid to provide much-needed facilities after an influx into the county of campers, campervans and motorhomes.

An increase in visitors wild camping since the easing of lockdown has created tension in communities across the north.

Two chemical toilets with hand-washing facilities have been temporarily installed at the Rhives location and cleaning agents provided, say the community council.

These facilities are being provided free of charge.

However site users have been reminded that a Rhives is a pay and display car park (£3 flat fee).

All funds going to the Mountain Bike Club to help with the maintenance of the Wild Cat mountain bike trails.
