Sir Tom Jones to headline summer concert at the Caledonian Stadium in Inverness
Caley Thistle chiefs have remained tight-lipped over the identity of a star lined up to play at the ground on June 27 – but we can reveal it is Tom Jones.
The internationally-renowned Welsh crooner will have turned 80 just three weeks earlier.
His last Highland performance was at Belladrum in 2014.
Sir Tom, who has sold more than 100 million records, will appear the night before Irish band Westlife’s gig at the stadium.
It is also on the same day as Piping Inverness, which features the European Pipe Band Championships.
It is not yet known when tickets for the gig will go on sale.
Caley Thistle have previously said open-air concerts of this sort can raise in the region of £100,000 for club coffers.
Past acts include Sir Rod Stewart and Sir Elton John, but this will be the first time the club has staged back-to-back concerts on consecutive nights.
