A consultation is taking place in Cannich today about the reintroduction of beavers to Glen Affric and Strathglass.

A group of landowners in Glen Affric and Strathglass are exploring the possibility of relocating beavers from Tayside to the Rivers Affric, Glass and Beauly.

The consultation will take place today (August 10) at Cannich Hall Community Room where people can go in anytime between 2pm - 8pm to leave their views.

The landowners involved have asked Trees for Life to act on their behalf in engaging with the community to seek their views.

Another consultation is being held at Cannich Hall on September 1 from 2pm - 8pm and at Kilmorack Community Hall on September 5 from 2pm - 8pm.

A beaver release can only go ahead if it has received a formal licence from NatureScot.

Trees for Life and NatureScot will both be present at the open days.

What do you think? Should beavers be returned to Strathglass and Affric?
