A shoplifter has been placed on nine months of social work supervision after stealing a perfume gift set from the Inverness city centre branch of Superdrug.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 32-year-old Jacqueline Rabbeth, of Juniper Gardens, Inverness had previously admitted the offence which was committed on October 2, 2022 and sentence had been deferred for a background report.

Defending, Rory Gowans told Sheriff Ian Cruickshank: "The report is positive and she is doing as well as she has ever done."

The court was told the £49 item was recovered at the time of the theft.
