Black Isle man waits on sentence at Inverness Sheriff Court over shoplifting offences in Highland capital

A 27-year-old Fortrose man who had been on a drug treatment and testing order relapsed and started shoplifting.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told by defence solicitor Duncan Henderson that Zen Etchells of Station Road: "was struggling again with alcohol and drugs after being put on a DTTO in 2019."

Etchells appeared from custody and admitted stealing £129 worth of foodstuffs from Marks and Spencer in Inverness on April 13. Nothing was recovered.

Five days later on April 18, Etchells stole £90 worth of alcohol from the Co-op store in Church Street, Inverness.

However £72 worth was recovered on that occasion.

Sentence was deferred until May 19 for a background report and Etchells was bailed with an 8pm-6am curfew and a ban on coming to Inverness.
