A sheriff warned a 22-year-old Inverness man that she was running out of patience with him after he admitted a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald told Gary Stewart: "Enough is enough. You are building up a bit of a record here and you were here not so long ago for a similar matter.

"You will end up going to jail if you carry on like this."

Police had arrested Stewart, of Balachlan Drive, on another matter on March 4, 2023 and took him to Burnett Road Police Station where he refused to be searched, fiscal depute Shamielah Ghafar told Inverness Sheriff Court.

"He continued to make threats of violence and swore at a police officer, making sexual remarks about his partner."

Sheriff Macdonald deferred sentence until July 18 for a background report on Stewart.
