Glen Urquhart Rural Community Association (GURCA) launched its Community Action Plan in January, aiming to use locals’ responses to craft a 20-year plan of improvement.

Gurca is hosting the in-person pop up sessions, beginning today, to allow people to discuss their views on the plan as it is.

The sessions were previously postponed due to Covid.

The plan, available online and as a hard copy, has been broken down into various themes including people’s health and wellbeing, local economy, culture, sport, and environment and has been produced by Gurca working with local charity Soirbheas and Glen Urquhart Community Council.

There have been 303 responses so far, both positive and negative.

Gurca chair, Susan Clark, emphasised the importance of taking part.

“The Glen Urquhart Community Action Plan events are an opportunity for anyone to come along, speak to members of GURCA, Soirbheas and the community council about the survey and what we will do with the results to create the plan,” she said. “You can come along and pick up a hard copy of the survey if you aren’t able to do it online.

“We are really interested to hear your views on what you want to see in Glen Urquhart over the next 20 years!”

Drop-in sessions take place from 6-7pm at Balnain Hall tonight; from 10am-12.30pm at Glenurquhart Hall on March 5; from 6-7pm at the same location on March 14; and from 10am-4pm at Drumnadrochit Village Green on April 9.
