A BUSY Inverness road is to close to traffic for sewer works, Highland Council has announced.

Bank Street will be shut overnight from 8pm on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday to enable "sewer mains survey works". The section that will be closed to traffic stretches from Douglas Row to Fraser Street.

This follows on from the daytime closure of neighbouring Douglas Row, which will be shut to traffic from 9.30am to 4.30pm tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday.

More transport news.

The survey is part of wider works which will also result in the closure of Ness Bank and Bught Road next week from Monday, March 20 to Friday, March 24.

During these latter closures the usual one-way traffic restriction on Ness Walk will be suspended between Ballifeary Lane and Riverside Gardens to enable access to the UHI site and Inverness Royal Infirmary via Ballifeary Lane and Ness Walk.
