Seventeen new coronavirus cases are logged in NHS Highland area

SEVENTEEN new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the NHS Highland area over the past day.

Across Scotland, 800 new cases were reported.

There were two new deaths from people who had tested positive.

There were no new cases recorded on Orkney, Shetland or the Western Isles.

The neighbouring NHS Grampian area saw 80 new cases and the biggest daily rise was in the NHS

Greater Glasgow and Clyde area where 179 new cases were recorded.

Figures released today by the Scottish Government state that 47 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19,

Some 1015 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

There were a total of 17,236 new tests for the virus that reported results – 5.2 per cent of these were positive.
