A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Nairn boy has walked a total of 40 miles in all weathers over four weeks to help the people of Ukraine.

Magnus Henderson ended his mammoth trek together with his school pals in his hometown earlier this month.

The last part of his fundraising effort started at the pier at East Beach and he stopped at James’s for a well deserved ice cream.

Mum Nicola Henderson said: “We are so proud of what he has done – he has gone out in all weathers – including hail storms – to ensure he stayed on track with his target.

“He moved us so much when he said that he thought about the walks children in Ukraine were having to do in the cold and at night to get to safety and that that kept him warm.

“And, in terms of how much he has raised, we are truly overwhelmed and humbled.”

His initial target was £250 and he has smashed that target by raising around £1350.

Mrs Henderson said that she felt he needed a “wee break now” but he would still help others.
