IT was all smiles for the camera as Gary Anthony the Highland News and Media photographer, rather than Santa, turned up to make Westhill Senior Citizens Club feel extra special this Christmas.

The merry band of 38 folks from around the district were treated to an afternoon of food, fun and photos at their annual Christmas lunch held at the beginning of the festive season.

President June Alexander said a good day was enjoyed by all the revellers. She said: "The whole day went very well. We had a lovely time in the Criagmonie Hotel. We had a three course meal, where we chose either a starter and main course, or main course and dessert followed with mincemeat pies and tea or coffee.

"There was plenty to chose from with turkey, roast beef or a vegetarian option. It was all delicious.

"Then Gary the photographer arrived. He took a big picture of us all then individual photos, we all felt very special.

"In the afternoon we had an accordion player and a pianist who played for us while we danced and had lots of fun."

The Westhill Senior Citizens Group meets every fortnight in Cradlehall Community Room and welcomes anyone from Westhill, Cradlehall or the surrounding areas to come and join them.
