See who is in Inverness's The Gathering Festival 2023 line-up
One of Scotland’s most exciting live acts will headline the fourth outing of an Inverness music festival.
Tide Lines will top the bill at The Gathering Festival in Northern Meeting Park on Saturday, May 27.
Tide Line’s sound is a combination of heartfelt soul, folk philosophy and big guitars with Scotland’s most distinctive new voice in Robert Robertson. The band, whose roots run all across the Highlands and Islands down to Glasgow, first emerged in the summer of 2016 with the release of their debut single Far Side of the World.
Other acts for the one-day festival include the most famous backpipe band in the world Red Hot Chilli Pipers, one of the area’s festival favourites Torridon, amongst the most in demand folk groups to emerge from Scotland in the last decade Talisk and energetic trad/folk group Hò-rò.
Rant, who are at the forefront of the Scottish fiddle scene, will make their Gathering debut as will winner of the BBC Radio Scotland young traditional musician of the year 2018, Scottish singer Hannah Rarity.
The final acts for the moment are Uist 6 piece, the highly energetic contemporary trad band Beinn Lee and traditional festival openers The City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band.
Festival producer Dougie Brown said: "We are delighted to welcome Tide Lines back to the Gathering next summer. The band have a special place in the history of The Gathering having closed our very first festival back in 2019. They put on an incredible show then and we can’t wait to see them back along with the packed line-up of Scottish artists in Inverness next May."
Over the coming months more acts will be added to the line-up alongside food and drink partners and a packed programme for youngsters.
