Scottish Water to investigate circumstances of crash at Inverness bridge

Scottish Water is to look into the circumstances of a head-on crash on an Inverness bridge involving one of its vans.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon on the Tomnahurich swing bridge which crosses the Caledonian Canal.

It involved the van and a car.

Police attended the scene but it is understood no one was injured.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: "We are aware of an incident at Tomnahurich on Saturday involving one of our vehicles and are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances."

A police spokesperson said: "Around 4.50pm, police received a report of a road crash involving two cars at the Tomnahurich Bridge in Inverness on Saturday, 26 August, 2023.

"There are no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing."
