Residents in some parts of Nairn woke up to no hot this morning in what was the second day of problems with their supply.

A second burst was located in the water main at Moss-side Road this morning, initially affecting around 100 properties.

Scottish Water said it brought in water tankers to restore supplies to as many customers as possible, reducing the number of properties affected by the burst to around 25.

A squad is now on site to start repairs and Scottish Water anticipates supplies should be back to normal by around 2pm today.

A spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise to customers in Nairn who have been affected by this burst.

“Engineers attended early this morning and have isolated the affected section of network in order to restore supplies to the majority of customers.

“We do understand the inconvenience this causes and are working hard to get all supplies restored as soon as possible."
