THE first Barclays Scottish Open at Castle Stuart, near Inverness, is in full swing.

Action from the first round.

Englishman Lee Westwood and Chilean Mark Tullo lead the field of more than 150 golfers - both at seven under par.

World number two Westwood was one of the pre-tournament favourites but Tullo is an outsider, with a world ranking of 232.

Swede Peter Hanson and South Africa's George Coetzee are both on six under par, while several players including world number one Luke Donald and Scotland's Colin Montgomerie are in a chasing pack at five under par.

Over 11,000 spectators watched the first round but more are expected in the build up to Sunday's final.

Welshman Phillip Price is the only player to hit a hole-in-one so far but he is one over par overall.

Police have advised motorists to expect heavy traffic on the A96 and to avoid it if possible.
