Inverness Military Wives Choir will give two performances at Inverness Cathedral on Saturday, November 9.

Donations from refreshments after both events will go towards an appeal on behalf of Sophia Walsh.

The 10-year-old Milton of Leys Primary pupil’s family are trying to raise £25,000 to buy a “Sit to Stand” chair which will allow Sophia – who has quadriplegic dystonic cerebral palsy – to be as independent as possible.

Performances are at 3pm and 7.30pm on and will also raise money for Poppy Scotland, Legion Scotland and Highland Hospice.

Tickets priced at £10/£5 are on sale now and are available from the main Inverness bases for all three charities as well as the cathedral café or online at eventbrite by searching for "Inverness Military Wives Choir".

A spokeswoman for the choir said: “We managed to raise £6000 for our three charities last year over two nights, which was more than the year before, so we really hope to raise even more for these wonderful charities this year.”
