Santa will repeat his popular tours on an illuminated sleigh around Inverness neighbourhoods in the run-up to Christmas.

Santa will spread festive cheer as he returns for an expanded pre-Christmas tour of Inverness streets.

The sleigh runs, now in their third year, will include North Kessock on the itinerary for the first time.

With restrictions no longer in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will also be chance for children to get closer to him for photographs.

It is being made possible thanks to Inverness Culloden Rotary Club.

During the first three weeks of December, the club will take Santa and the sleigh – and elves with collecting buckets – around the city between 5pm and 7pm.

They will also make static appearances at Tesco in the Inverness Retail Park plus Morrisons and Asda supermarkets on three Saturdays between 11am and 3pm.

The final appearances will be after the matinee and evening Eden Court pantomime shows in the week leading up to Christmas.

A Santa-tracking App, Sleigh Tracker, is available to download to cover Santa’s movements. Users should select Inverness Culloden Rotary Club from the list.

An outline programme has been published and more detailed timings will be given nearer the dates. Any changes due to circumstances such as the weather will be published on the club’s Facebook page.
