Sadness after Shadow the cat at Inverness Botanic Gardens has died

Sadness has been expressed after Shadow the cat, who lived at Inverness Botanic Gardens died today.

A spokesman for the venue stated: "Sadly Shadow passed away peaceful today.

"Shadow has been a much-loved feature of the Botanics gardens for years and will be sorely missed.

"Special thanks to Inverness Cat Rescue for their support and advice and all the members of the gardening team that have loved Shadow over the years."

The spokesman asked people to share photos they have of him on social media. Comments include stating he was a highlight of any visit to the venue.
