Gavin and Stacey fans are celebrating at the news that Ruth Jones, who played Nessa Jenkins in the hit series, and Rob Brydon, who played Uncle Bryn, are to reunite for a new comedy which is set in the Highlands.

The Scotsman has reported that the one-off BBC special, titled Gaynor And Ray, was announced during the Edinburgh TV Festival yesterday and will follow two 50-something newlyweds from Cardiff as they embark on their honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands.

They have decided to marry for a second time despite knowing each other for just six months and there are still lots of things they do not know about each other.

Jones and Brydon will star opposite each other in the lead roles.
