A ROWDY Inverness pub goer who shouted and swore at a bar boss calling her "slag" and "prostitute" has been hammered with a £450 fine.

Craig MacLeod erupted in the city’s MacCallums Bar after being told to go home for having too much to drink plus starting to swear at punters and bang tables.

Staff refused to serve him any more booze and when general manager Kirsteen Rosie told him to go home he kicked off and launched a furious tirade of abuse at her.

MacLeod (26), of Gilbert Street, Inverness, pleaded guilty when he appeared in the city’s sheriff court charged with using threatening or abusive behaviour in the Union Street pub on August 31, last year.

Depute fiscal Ross Carvel said: "Miss Rosie approached him and told him it was time for him to go home, but at that point he lunged towards her shouting and swearing.

"Other patrons had to get in the way and get him away from the (general) manager.

"He continued to shout and swear at Miss Rosie and was continuing this behaviour until he was pushed outside the premises."

His solicitor Paterson said: "It was a relatively minor matter. He took exception when he was told to leave. He has been out of trouble for two years."

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood failed to agree and reckoned the offence was worthy of a £450 fine, payable at £50 a month.
