Apprentice Boys of Derry's Inverness Campsie Club to march through Inverness – 17 road restrictions

TRAFFIC in Inverness faces disruption tomorrow as the Inverness Campsie Club, part of the Apprentice Boys of Derry, holds a march through the city.

Highland Council is advising road users that a number of restrictions will be in place on routes between Green Drive and Huntly Street between 2.55pm and 4.20pm.

In the past 180 marchers have taken part in the parade last held in 2017.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “The event will be policed appropriately to ensure it is conducted safely and peacefully.”

The council is advising road users about the following temporary road restrictions:

• Green Drive closed at its southernmost junction with Culduthel Road to its northernmost (roundabout) junction with Culduthel Road, between 2.55pm and 3.10pm.
• Culduthel Road closed at its roundabout junction with Green Drive to its junction with Drummond Road, between 3.05pm and 3.25pm.
• Culduthel Road closed at its junction with Drummond Road to its junction with Old Edinburgh Road, between 3.15pm and 3.35pm.
• Culduthel Road closed at its junction with Old Edinburgh Road to its junction with Castle Street, between 3.20pm and 3.40pm.
• Castle Street closed at its junction with Culduthel Road to its junction with High Street, between 3.25pm and 3.45pm.
• High Street closed at its junction with Castle Street to its junction with Bridge Street, between 3.25pm and 3.45pm.
• Bridge Street closed at its junction with High Street to its junction with Castle Road, between 3.25pm and 3.45pm.
• Castle Road closed at its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road, between 3.30pm and 4.05pm.
• Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road closed at its junction with Island Bank Road to its junction with Castle Road, between 3.30pm and 3.50pm.
• Island Bank Road closed at its junction with Haugh Road to its junction with Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road, between 3.35pm and 3.55pm.
• Haugh Road closed at its junction with View Place to its junction with Island Bank Road, between 3.35pm and 4pm.
• Ness Bridge, closed to westbound traffic at its junction with Castle Road to its junction with Ness Walk, between 3.55pm and 4.05pm.
• Young Street closed to westbound traffic at its junction with Ness Walk to its junction with Alexander Place, between 3.55pm and 4.05pm.
• Huntly Street closed at its junction with Young Street to its junction with Greig Street, between 4pm and 4.10pm.
• Huntly Street closed at its junction with Greig Street to its junction with Celt Street, between 4pm and 4.20pm.
• Huntly Street closed at its junction with Celt Street to its junction with Wells Street, between 4pm and 4.20pm.
• Wells Street closed at its junction with the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road to its junction with Huntly Street, between 4pm and 4.20pm.
