Residents around the Inverness area have reported challenging conditions with ice-covered roads and paths.
One reader sent in a picture of Oldtown Place in Hilton covered in ice.
"This is our street, still like this at 3.30pm this afternoon," the reader said.
"It is now just a sheet of ice from one end to the other.
One Merkinch resident said the conditions meant it had taken him 30 minutes to walk along Grant Street when usually it would take five minutes.
"The pavements haven't been gritted," he said.
Icy conditions continue to cause challenges
Icy conditions in the area caused problems this morning with many paths remaining ungritted in city neighbourhoods as well as outlying areas.
As temperatures remained below freezing, motorists as well as pedestrians and cyclists faced challenging journeys.
