Overnight road closures are set to take place on the A8082 in Inverness.

This is to allow CityFibre to bring full fibre connectivity to homes and businesses across the city.

As part of its investment of around £20 million in Inverness, CityFibre’s build partner GCU UK Ltd will be completing work on the Southern Distributor Road for around five weeks from Monday.

Sections of the road from Holm Roundabout to Inshes Roundabout will be closed to traffic with diversions in place, while temporary traffic lights will be used where required. These measures will be in place overnight from 7pm to 6.30am.

Allan McEwan, CityFibre’s city manager for Inverness, said: “We appreciate that these closures will impact residents; however, we are aiming to keep this disruption to a minimum by working overnight and completing works as quickly as possible.

“I want to thank everyone for their patience as we work to connect homes and businesses in Inverness to the fastest and most reliable network infrastructure available.”

CityFibre’s deployment of Inverness’ full fibre network is due to be largely completed by the end of this year.
