A 200 metre section of road that runs between Muir of Ord and Aultgowrie will close to traffic next week for engineering work, Highland Council has announced.

The closure on Thursday, February 15 will take place on the U3006, which passes to the south of Muir of Ord's Singleton Distillery and heads west towards Aultgowrie before turning north to Marybank.

The 200 metre section of road that will close is situated near to the distillery and extends east from a property known as Easdale. It will be shut to all traffic bar pedestrians and emergency vehicles from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

Confirming the planned closure, Highland Council said: "The U3006 Ord Distillery-Aultgowrie-Marybank Road, Muir of Ord commencing from its entrance to the property known as Easdale and extending in an easterly direction for a distance of 200 metres will be closed between 9.30akm and 3.30pm on Thursday, February 15.

"This is to allow British Telecom to carry out pole replacement works safely.

"Pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

"[An] alternative route for traffic is available via the A832 Cromarty-Muir of Ord-Moy Bridge [road] and this will be signed."
