A CRASH between a lorry and a car has closed the A9 in both directions between the Cromarty Bridge and Evanton.

Traffic Scotland said the collision, which is understood to have occurred at around 3.50pm near to the Ardullie roundabout, had blocked the road and emergency services were "en route".

Vehicles were also said to be queuing on the approach, and traffic was building on the back road between Dingwall and Evanton.

Police have urged drivers to find alternative routes.

It was not known if there were any injuries at the time of writing.
