Highland Council alerts motorists to a series of temporary road closures in the Kinmylies area of Inverness to allow contractors working on behalf of Cityfibre to install fibre optic cable as part of the roll-out of the 5G network

Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be various temporary road closures in the Kinmylies area of Inverness, which will be in operation from 8am on Monday and will remain in effect until 6pm on Friday, 23 July.

The closures are required to allow a contractor, working on behalf of Cityfibre, to install fibre optic cable as part of the roll-out of the 5G network.

Lengths of road to be closed:

• U4562 Lawers Way, Inverness, closed from its junction with the U4547 Leachkin Road to the point where it terminates in a turning head, a distance of around 347 metres;

• U4562 Lawers Way, Inverness spur road section commencing at a point of around 196 metres, from the road’s junction with the U4547 Leachkin Road and extending in a south-westerly direction to the point where it terminates in a turning head, a distance of around 92 metres;

• U4563 Carn Gorm Terrace, Inverness, closed between its junction with the U4562 Lawers Way and its junction with the U4565 Creag Dhubh Terrace;

• U4565 Carn Dhubh Terrace, Inverness, closed between its junction with the U4563 Carn Gorm Terrace and its junction with the U1225 Kinmylies Way;

• U4605 Charleston View, Inverness, closed from its junction with the C1118 General Booth Road to the point where it terminates in a turning circle, a distance of around 308 metres;

• U4605 Charleston View, Inverness, spur road section commencing at a point 254 metres, from the road’s junction with the C1118 General Booth Road and extending in a north-westerly direction to the point where terminates in a turning head, a distance of around 147 metres;

• U4605 Charleston View, Inverness, spur road section commencing at a turning circle at a point 308 metre, from the road’s junction with the C1118 General Booth Road and extending in a south-westerly direction to the point where it terminates in a turning head, a distance of 40 metres;

• U4549 Leachkin Park, Inverness, closed from it’s junction with the U1225 Kinmylies Way to the point where it terminates in a turning head, a distance of 79 metres;

Access for pedestrians will be maintained and local diversions will be signposted. Access for vehicles will be maintained at the discretion of the works contractor.
